Multiscale models of bacterial cell-cell interactions
We are intrigued by the many ways bacteria interact with other cells. Our goal is to establish mechanistic models of macromolecular machines mediating these cell-cell interactions.
We integrate information from the molecular to the cellular and intercellular scale, by combining our key technique cryo-electron tomography (cryoET) with other imaging techniques and functional assays.
Our scientific interests are focused on the following areas:
1) different types of cell-cell interactions
2) the development of methods
3) urinary tract infections (Weiss sub-group)
